How I cut off half my finger nail T^T

Let me first start by saying NO I WAS NOT DRUNK! ... the real question is does that make it better or worse?

So how did this all start? The day after I got back from Hawaii, 7/23, I was out with one of my good friends Jing. We had dinner at True Food which is like a tradition for us, and then found a cute little bar in Highland park. It was a 12 minute Lyft and we thought "Why not!" We were dressed super cute for a chill night out for some drinks... or so we thought.
Get to Block Party Highland Park, walk all the way down and head straight for the restroom. As we are leaving the restroom, I follow behind Jing as we are both impressed by their extensive collection of beer, and as we turn the corner, I put my hand on the wall for a split second and
BAM! FINGER SMASHED IN VERY HEAVY METAL DOOR.
(it was on the hinge side... I know I'm an idiot)
Here are some pics so you can get a visual of the scene of the stupidity:
Seeeee SUPER CUTE!
Here is the wall of beer that we checked out; and that black sliver of a door is the culprit -_-
So, I quickly pulled my finger out of the door only to find that it was now PROFUSELY BLEEDING. Literally the only thing going through my mind was "you've got to be kidding me, we JUST GOT HERE." Poor Jing, she turned around and was like WHAT HAPPENED?!! Absolute nani the fuck moment.
And I remember just looking at her as my finger was dripping blood into my other hand and saying "Soooo I think we have to go..."
She looked so frazzled and was like "ok should we tell them so no one else does it" and I'm just standing there like "napkins, Jing, napkins first please so I don't cover their very nice establishment in my blood."
It was so embarrassing walking out literally 5 minutes after entering, the bouncer looked so confused! So I would've normally just gone straight to the hospital, but STUPID ME, HA NOPE, I didn't have my medical insurance card on me. So I call my mom "Hey ma so, um, I kind of cut off half my finger nail and I don't have my insurance card." What does she say?
"You're joking! Shut the fuck up" as she's chuckling and then she goes "Wait seriously?"
"Yes, seriously, I can send you a picture if you want!"

So my mom and dad are on their way. Meanwhile: Jing and I are on the sidewalk, everyone is staring now because the whole street overheard my phone call. The bouncer brought out a stool which was really nice, and then a lady who was getting food at the tent out front comes over. She mentioned she was a surgical nurse and asked if she could see my finger. She told me to keep putting pressure and to keep it above my heart. AND THEN, of course because things are never simple with me, I can start to see my vision go out which is a sign that I'm about to faint. I assume it's from the pain because that thing hurt like a mother F'er.
So I start panicking, Jing on my left, surgical nurse on my right, and I'm just like "I need you guys to catch me I'm gonna faint, I'm gonna faint." The nurse was so sweet she kept telling me to breathe and that I wouldn't faint, but as luck would have it, instead I THROW UP. Like seriously of all things that could've happened. Surprisingly, I didn't get any on myself or others! Lucky for me it also snapped me out of fainting.
After getting water and the nice nurse going her way, one of the bartenders comes out who is also a chef. Very sweet, he also asks to see my finger, once he understand the situation he asks if he can put a bandaid on it because my nail is barely hanging onto my finger at this point. He's able to dress it, gets me a towel and some ice to help with the mess and the pain. He also gave a recommendation to Glendale Adventist Hospital which was nearby. Soon after my parents arrived. If there's anything good about this it's that Jing and I have free drinks next time we go back! haha
Verdict at the ER: 1 stitch, no permanent damage, but it'll take 3-6 months for my nail to grow back. It was so embarrassing click clacking through the ER in my boots, but I guess I looked cute so it's all good ;D

1 Week later: I got my stitch and splint removed!
It's been 3 weeks since the incident and my finger is slowly but surely healing. Still looks pretty gnarly, so I'll be keeping a bandaid on for awhile. But I am back to almost full functioning!
If you are ever in the area and need a hospital, highly recommend Adventist Health Glendale. Very friendly staff and super fast! I didn't have to wait long for anything which was really nice.
